  1. Hi there, does anyone know of places that do interior campervan conversions in Norfolk?

    Thanks in advance

You might be better off finding specialists to do each part separately you would have more control then.

  3. Thanks for your reply...Do u know any specialists in this area??

  4. What about buying something like a vanwurks interior and fitting it yourself.?

  5. I've never done anything like that - I only bought the vdub last year and am still learning the basics - is it hard to fit yourself?!

If you hand it over to an interior place without a firm and fairly detailed plan you could end up spending an awful lot of money. Most places will sub out part or a lot of the work - you could do that yourself if you have the time.
You have the following to consider, and when it's being done, the order is important e.g. no good having a super new headlining installed then thinking about lighting and wires for lighting.
    Headlining
    Door/panel trim cards
    Flooring
    12v electric
    240 v electric
    Gas
    Heating?
    Solar?
    Furniture (hard)
    Furnishings (soft)

Personally I had my furniture out about half a dozen times to hide more and more wiring - wiring through cupboards after isn't best. A better plan would have saved me a lot of messing about. Think about lighting etc first, not when it's nearly done. A bit like having the builders round - you concentrate on the big bits but they suddenly want to know where to put all the sockets and pipes...

  7. Ok, that makes a lot of sense - so you're saying I could strip the bus myself, then do the panels / floor myself....get an electrician in and go from there with the cupboards etc.... What's headlining?! And when you take everything out, is it worth painting / protecting the bus floor before putting new flooring down? Cheers for taking the time to advise me!

There are loads of resto friends on here detailing kitting inside I would have a search about and look in the restoration section

  10. as z says look at the resto threads - one key decision is whether you have a full width or 3/4 width bed as this has a major impact on any furniture.

might be worthwhile looking at tlb members campers - im in norfolk as is skutterbob and there are others that dont immediately spring to mind

again as z says you really need to spend a lot of time planning otherwise you'll end up having a lot of things redone

    hope this helps

I made mine up as I went along. I'm presently taking the ply headlining down for about the 5th time, this time for anti-condensation insulation.
The bed and main unit and panels have been in and out more times, usually to hide more wiring.
If I'd practice what I preached, I'd have saved myself a lot of messing about.

  13. @zedders what is this anti condensation insulation you speak of? I've got half my roof cloth off and need something to replace the polystyrene slabs with. Thanks

  15. @nikkiwalker1984 I had all my interior redone last year.

I stripped the entire bus myself, very easy to do.

I used a company based in Burscough, Lancashire called CamperShak. I am really really happy with the finished interior.

Look at my bus thread for what I did.

They did everything for me Headlining, reupholstered seats & bed etc, new cupboards (sink and hob), Door/panel trim cards, Flooring, 12v electric, 240 v electric, speakers, LED Lighting. Pretty much everything apart from the dashboard install.
