  1. Which companies offer the best deals on camper insurance? Does a 78 bay classify as classic car?

I've been getting quotes in advance of potentially buying a late bay, and I was recommended RH Insurance. They haven't really got an online facility, you have to do it all over the phone and speak to an actual human being (a nice change). I've found them pleasant to deal with and what sounds like potentually good prices. Sadly I have yet to actually take them up on any of their offers, but hey, patience is a virtue and all that ;)

  3. I'm with "cherished".

They offer a discount to late bay members, link on the home page. Undercut my previous insurer significantly :)

With you in the same boat, just trying to get everything set out before making the jump.

  6. Just been on their website, I'm intrigued by the Military vehicle insurance, sod the bus I'm getting a tank! That would clear the camp site, not sure which is faster through. Tank vs Camper....

Hmmmmm, will have a look at them too.....

  8. Do you get better mpg with a tank?

  9. On a run, I get 1.6mpg from my old Chieftain, but don't use it as much as I should.

    I say 'Chieftain', technically it's a 4030P2J – P = Phase & J = Jordan/Shir (Lion) 1 - So in essence the transition vehicle from the Chieftain to the Challenger 1 tank. Anyhoo - it's the one with the Rolls-Royce CV12 engine producing 1200 bhp at 2,300 rpm.

  11. Just tried getting a quote from Cherished - they said that they won't insure it unless it is garaged - I keep mine in the front garden so no deal.

  12. Strange! I just got a call from them and they quoted me for keeping it on the drive. Maybe a value thing.
