Identify that carb

Discussion in 'Mech Tech' started by Mr Apollo, Nov 27, 2019.

  1. Hi,

The garage tells me that the engine in our bus is running too lean, risking overheating. He recommends changing the jets in the carburettors. He can't immediately identify the correct jets to use, as he can't identify the make of the carbs, no labels. They were fitted two owners ago, so I can't easily ask either.

Can anyone identify the make/model from this image? Otherwise it will be trial and error to find the right one.

    Kadron/Solex ?

As fitted in the USA by people who like having problems with aftermarket carbs..

Probably sold by an idiot shop in the states.. eg. Gene Berg who would file and grind identification off parts to ensure customer loyalty forcing customers to return to them for over priced spares.

  5. Oooh! And I thought Gene Berg was one of the good guys.

  6. He was.

  7. Then what happened? Did EMPI buy them?

  8. Well, he died ages ago, so he doesn’t get out of house much these days.
