Discussion in 'Mech Tech' started by Zebedee, Aug 11, 2011.

  1. Now if someone actually made these how much would they be worth?

I want some but dont have access to Vice, metal etc etc

Obviously you cant seem to buy them but would people be interested if you could?

  4. I made the ones on my bay westy from those plans. Cost a couple of quid for the steel and a few hours cutting it out with a hacksaw. I bent them to shape with a club hammer and a brick. ;D

3mm thick steel? you've got to be kidding! The originals are approx 1.5mm thk aluminium. The fit and style depended of, on all things, the engine! The T4 engined brackets fit on the engine bar bracket where there is a ready tapped hole on the side, then it's down to making hole in the closing panels. The same bracket doesn't fit on T1 engine brackets.

So there a few versions to make if you're going into business. I'd buy them if the price/quality was good.
