Hoot the bus before and after

  1. Well as 2011 draws to a close I thought it a good time to update this post.

Those of you that I met at elemental back in April will probably remember the entrance that we made with Hoot in a cloud of Blue smoke. Engine bay covered in oil and oil dripping out onto the heat exchangers, which made the bus smoke through the air intake vents for a good 30 minutes after the engine was turned off! Well the fault was traced to low compression in number 1 cylinder. all 4 cylinders were changed, and the engine re-built over a weekend, in time for our first camping trip.
Fast forward to December, and we've been camping in the New Forest, south coast, Isle of Wight, Suffolk and Norfolk cost.

In total 21 nights spent sleeping in Hoot. In addition we've had numerous days out for good old fashioned picnics. And Hoot has not missed a beat. Started every time and ran like a dream the whole time. Hoot is now safely tucked up for the winter, but today as the sun was shining decided to take the covers off and see if she would start..... and she did!!!!

To all the people currently struggling to get their buses on the road, keep going it is worth it.

I for one will be raising a glass this New Years to Hoot, for the brilliant first year in her and hopefully the many more happy miles motoring and all the great memories yet to be made.
