Hook Farm, Uplyme (Lyme Regis)

  1. Hook Farm is a lovely camper friendly site, clean modern toilet & shower block and views of rolling hills. If you walk down the hill from the campsite there's a reasonable pub with Real Ales, down the pub there's a beautiful riverside walk past thatched cottages which eventually leads you into Lyme Regis (about 30-40 mins). For the return journey there's a bus that drops you back at the pub.
I think it was £18 a night for an enormous pitch and was recommended in 'Cool Camping' which we regards as our bible.

Stayed on this site a few times and always had a great time, only trouble with the walk into town is the nearer you get to Lyme Regis the more it becomes a dog s*%$@ slalom!!

Just spoke to the site and they were more than friendly, looking at staying there after summer camp and getting some pics and doing a review.
2 tents one camper and 6 people for £195 ! Bargain

  4. This is a little gem of a site with a good sized tiered pitches, most with good views. The walk into Lyme regis is very pleasant despite the dog litter (why is there so much around these days?) and Lyme Regis is such a great little English seaside town. Which reminds me, we haven't been yet this year so I'm going to stick it in the diary!

  5. Just back from here.
Dog litter? What is the obsession with dog crap on here?
Despite walking into Lyme Regis & back three times, rather disappointingly, I saw but the one turd.

The site was bloody good though, good bogs and spectacular views.
Lyme Regis was an interesting little bit of a town with curious architecture, a nice bit of a harbour and some cracking pubs
with good ale and even better balconies to sit out on.
