I know. I’ve not got one so if we need to Sarah has one. However, as it was a sort of fab holiday for Sarah after doing the marathon I paid by transfer :(

poo poo! The company T&C’s say no refund/postponement for cancellation but they will try to resell your booked week. They also advise to take out your own travel insurance.

I’m only not going on govt advice really. They are saying they are still open for business so I could go.

Double poo poo. In trying to find my travel insurance details from my confirmation email link it just shows ‘page unavailable’ :(

Ps @paulcalf Alez? Were you subconsciously commenting on my sexuality? ;)

  4. If you have to self-isolate because of any of the symptoms, surely you'll be covered as an illness claim? You can't travel due to ill health.o_O

  5. I’d have thought they have to be closed reading this, so if they are saying they are still open, they are breaking the rules.

Ask them where to collect the keys from.
Maybe drop into conversation that they might want to pass them out of the window, you’re a bit coughey....

If you took a deposit to fit a heating system, then the client told you they had to self isolate for 12 weeks so could they have their deposit back, would you tell them no?

May be ask them to read it and reconsider their position now you have it in writing that that they are open - section 4 is interesting regarding the penalty of an unlimited fine being imposed - Public Health England will be interested.

Also section 6 shows them what compensatory payments for being forced to shut they receive- unless they trade on the sly and aren’t reg for business rates....

  9. Hopefully you can simply claim on your insurance.

If not perhaps suggest that they must refund you, because THEY would be breaking the law/guidance if they were open & allowed you to stay.

The Alez was just a spell check mistake. I couldn't even work out what your reply meant, until I just said Alez out loud.

  18. Sorry if its already been said but government says holidays are NOT essential, putting into force requisite legislation whatever that is regarding holiday lets. One thing is for certain is it is not at all in any sense available.
For instance I had a week at the end of April booked in Wales that was cancelled today. Thankfully at the moment they are offering to rebook, though those with an arrival in the next week given priority and this will then role on.

I’d go in tough. The gov’t states they should be closed, your not to travel blah blah. They have clearly taken your money & spent it. Do what you need to and when you get nowhere send a final email saying your going to small claims court unless they refund within 7 days.

Then when the money does not arrived do your claim.

I have a client in hotels industry and we’ve so far refunded everyone. Need to check latest figures but it’s £100K+ it’s a very small company that is struggling to continue but doing the right thing.

  20. Tell them your going to issue a winding up order on them as they are saying they cannot afford to trade , this should work ?
