Hob / Sink Options

  1. I hope this is the right section to be asking this stuff?

Anyway, what's your opinion on the Smev 9222 combination hob sink? Looks ideal but is the glass for the sink to close to the adjacent burner? I wouldn't have thought so but.... Would we be better off with separate units? Got to have a sink or the wife will castrate me with an angry cat!

Combination for me, two separates take up too much (bottle) space.

  6. Perfect set up for one mate

  7. What worries me about the 9222 is the burner looks like it it could shatter the glass if used with the sink glass down

We have exactly the same double unit as you posted.
It's never been an issue because if you're cooking something you will invariably have used the sink, even if its just to fill the kettle.
The worry we've always had is letting the top spring closed on its own and shattering the glass. Knowing how much it costs has prevented us from making that mistake - so far.

  12. Where is the best place to pick these up price wise??

We got ours from Rainbow Conversions in Wisbeach. I don't know how they compare on price but its close enough that I could get it myself that day.

  14. This is another of my favourite options but don't know where to find it:(

  16. Can you use the cooker glass as a draining board when washing up?

  17. Thanks @sANDYbAY that site has the one I wanted:) does anyone else have the one above? I'd love a little stand alone unit like its in, anyone seen these around??

  18. I'm probably gonna go for the one burner/sink combo due to space. I've seen a few companies that sell Smev kit on eBay that look reasonable.

  20. I like the one daisy juckes posted but I an also tempted by a CAN one where the burner folds into the sink when not in use, pricey though
