Help me fulfil my dream - VEO 567T

Discussion in 'General Discussion' started by Rachelle fittall, Aug 2, 2015.

  1. Hello!
I'm desperately trying to track down my old T2 VW Camper, registration number plate is VEO 567T. The camper holds so many childhood memories for me and I'd like to ask the current owner whether he would consider taking me to my wedding early next year. Last time I saw it it was white and was in Kent.

    Thanks in advance.

1st port of call with any "i want my old car" just check the reg - cost's nowt, doesn't mean it's scrapped (but probably is) the van now might be on private plates.....

how long ago did you last see it in kent?

My old mans Cortina is on the dvla website showing last taxed in 1987!

    And not on SORN.

yes, a few of my old ones are too BUT when it's not listed at all it's usually scrapped.

  7. Yeah looking at the picture it has the usual rot I had on my moonraker, I guess its a gonna :(

  8. I never have this temptation to look for lost registration numbers of cars from my childhood - my dad was *always* the LAST owner of every car he drove, and most of the numberplates adorned the inside wall of our garage (having been removed just before the scrapman arrived), so I knew exactly where they ended up

Could this be that Rachel's is more interested in a bus with the reg number displayed rather than the actual physical bus of her younger days
She could contact the DVLA to see if the number is available and if so get it on a retention
Rachel's could then go and buy a similar looking bus to her younger days and have the plate transferred to that vehicle , this is not going to be cheap but just one way she may achieve (part ) of her goal

EO is the regional identifier, meaning it was registered in Barrow in Furness.

  15. Hi,
I had already checked on there and although it says that, my uncle knows it's still on the roa

  17. Thanks for your replies, some made me laugh!

I'm only interested in finding the van, using a different van and putting fake plates on it isn't quite the same for me, it's THE van or no van!

My uncle knew the owner and last he'd heard he'd spent £20k on it recently and only takes it to shows. I don't think it's Sorn so I'm guessing private number plates, which does not help my search at all...!

  18. My uncle is a mechanic and he sold it to him and he sees the bloke in Kent sometimes but doesn't actually have his number to get in contact with him, he's trying to get his number but is struggling!

  20. Good old Uncle - reminds me of the tale I used to tell my Girls when one of our Dogs got run over ... I took him to the Farm as he always wanted to live on Farm... That story held for nearly 10 years !
