Hello and welcome to the forum. It may take you some time and money to get your ride right BUT it will be worth it in the end. Camping with your family and like minded people makes it all worth it. Persevere and keep with it fella.
Meanwhile, have a look around the forum as many folks have restored/repaired their vans and posted lots of helpful pics. If you are not taking the engine out right now, and you are worried about fuel gauge not working, others on here have had same issue. Some like me have an inspection plate cut out above the fuel tank to allow access and replacement of the sender unit in the tank. Its all on here for you. Prioritise any jobs and make passing the mot the top one.
so got it back from welders today. Will take it back in a month for him to strip it back, deal with any other rust and spray it. He hasn't ground back all his work yet as will do it when he is preparing it. Will book it in for mot tomorrow as fails now sorted, so hopeful. Saw a YouTube clip on making the access hole so will do it that way to fix fuel gauge. Roof does have some rust, but isn't awful, so quite pleased. Anyone know where they sell gutter corners? Can only find the straights
