Sorry! I forgot to put that in the original post, I must've got over excited, its a 1975 devon conversion with a 1600cc engine running twin carbs. a brand new engine was fitted about 3000 miles ago so i'm hoping it lasts for me

Definitely something i'll look to upgrade in the future, but have a feeling its mainly going to be down to me being a wally

Thank you all, I've looked into the Techenders thread and it looks like a great idea! i'm really keen to come along, but I'm concerned at how low my bus is and how it'd cope with the field. anyone else been with a lowered ride before? I may look at raising it up beforehand, time & money dependant

You should be fine getting into the field at the campsite.

I don't remember any speed bumps or anything like that

Just go slowly as you move off the gravel drive onto the field that most people camp in

Taking a lowered bus to Techenders shouldn't be a problem, ours sits pretty low as well and I've not had an issue. Actually the only time we've had a problem on a site was a couple of years ago in North Devon when a week of heavy rain saturated the ground and we required a push from a couple of fellas. To be fair it was proper wet to the extent that people in tents weren't parking their cars by their pitches for fear of getting stuck but leaving them up by reception. Bit tricky for us when your vehicle is also your bedroom
