Well done sounds like a great first camping trip - I'm still waiting for the opportunity! The smiles and the waves are all part of driving an old VW - you don't expect it from 'normal cars' but its almost mandatory from drivers of old dubs.
welcome to TLB ....great intro and lovely looking bus you must be very pleased get some one to check the fuel and fuel breather hoses have been changed recently, they are often a cause for concern, keep an eye on your oil, learn how to service it yourself - and do it regularly...........and you should have many more years of happy adventures
