  3. Hello from Camberley. Saw your van yesterday and you've got it in with a great bunch of guys. Can't recommend Grant and the team at Beetlelink enough - a brilliant place

  4. Cheers ruby

He mentioned you popped in . Did you get a peek under the ramp I've not seen the chaos yet . And yeah they Al seem great and not to far too.

  5. Yup, after they'd suffocated me from your exhaust! Looked better than mine did - but it's scary when they start poking the sills. But it is what it is - you are in the club now and destined to be forever broke - but happy.

  6. yep im pretty happy so far with how solid it is for a UK bus .
already broke and its day 1!!!!!!! haha I've started to save for a new narrow beam and springs .
they haven't even started to look at the gear linkage yet :S

on Thursday im supposed to ride the Beast to Cheddar .... fingers crossed and praying to whatever air cooled gods exist .

  7. I'm assuming the beam was rotten? btw welcome from NE hants

  8. hi pickles (not Ian pickles are you ? I know one. )
The front looks to have been lowered with a machine 7 or similar spring delete kit and coil overs .
the beam has started to go and has some dodgy patches (I haven't seen it yet so im a little vague here) coil overs are also mankey
the guys are recommending put her to stock and I lower it properly and at the same time change the beam just get it done properly all in one go .

  9. No the user name reflects the mustard colour of the bus! Probably much better to go back to stock and start again. I've never driven a lowered bus but many on here will tell you to keep it stock height. Best of luck with it all.

  10. this was absolutely decked I ground out on every one of the speed bumps entering beetle link. if you have ever been there are like 20 in a row... the ride wa horrendous a woop in the road (not pot hole) would literally bounce the rears off the ground .

  11. Hoping to get her back tomorrow as I leave on holiday Thursday morning with her to a trip to cheddar

  12. I used to have an El Camino in South Africa, could you post a picture of the one you had.

  14. lovely car!!
Mine had a slightly different grill, it was basically a '73 Holden, shipped and assembled in SA, badged as a Chevvy El Camino.
Pale pastel blue with a white fibreglass canopy.
The other popular car was the saloon version, called a Chevy Constansia (sp)
