Bought a box of bits off of Nedfaux, got a rough idea of some but just want i.d to clarify if they are all for my van and where they go etc.Ta.

These 2 pipes, back of heat exchanger to Y piece by rear axle?

Fan for top of engine and pipes to holes in tin where exchangers would poke through? (my holes in tin are blanked off)

Not sure on this, there is a flap inside which looks like a cable would open and shut it - it's on a spring return.

The other side? just not fastened together....

Pic of tube on it's own
    [IMG]

    No idea.

Other view, ends blocked off for some reason.

    Again, no idea.....

Just to remind you i'm a type 4 2 litre if you can confirm the bits are for mine and where they go, plus if possible any bits you can tell i still need to link the engine fan to the exchangers etc.

Again, small reminder the ends of my engine fan are blanked like this....what piece of tin links them to the end of the exchanger? if nothing i have can someone find a pic for me? i am hoping to get the bits for work to commence soon.

    They are for your bus.

    Pic 1
As you say, from the heater pods to the Y pipe.

    Pic 2
Fan that mounts to the top of the engine bay. Ditch those hoses and buy new ones from Heritage. They do the correct ones and fit really well. They don't need foil on them.

    Pic 3
    Heater pod for N/S.

    Pic 4
    Heater pod for O/S.

    Pic 5/6
Risers from the heat exchangers that attach to the pipes from the fan. The oval shape on is on the O/S.

    Pic 7
Not sure about the big piece or the what looks like an egg cup. The 2 little pieces are very rare. They fit on the outlet of the main cooling fan and seal the fan to the heat exchanger.

I'll try and dig some pictures out of mine to show you.

Thanks Stu, so in effect i have all that is needed to make the exhangers produce heat to the Y pipe (bar cables)? i now need to fetch bits off PYE to continue to the front of the van.

  6. Hi rick if you need one to look at you can pop over and have a crawl under and see what it look's like diff engine but the rest should be the same! ;D

  7. shows how it all locates

Heat exchanger to heat riser, to heater control pod, to black flexible hose, to Y piece to front of van.

Centre heat riser for the squirrel/snail fan, though people seem to think this is a waste of time
    :)

oh, that;s good, them pod things are out of the rear of the exchangers then.....i'm keen to offer it up and see how it goes now, hoping to get started on the van 27th dec ish.....goes into work this friday, as much as the diagrams help though pictures and real life looking at things is easier for me.

the "snail fan" and top pipes can wait for now, as i say my holes in the tin from them to the exchangers are filled over, i may continue to run the exchangers i have in the video as j tubes for a while, the excersise in refitting the heating is being done partly because i have them but mainly because the j tubes have been blowing since i got the van and i've not been arsed to take them off to replace the copper rings, i plan to get the van up high inside work so i can carry out repairs in the dry and at my leisure.

yeah i did post summat along them lines the other week, i'll see how i get on, so if i connect the top of the exchangers to the snail fan but don't connect the fan wiring that's ok?

The snail fan should have 2 flaps on it to stop hot air rising into the engine bay.

  19. Just a quick thought and sorry to jack your thread rick but would i be able to use a similar fan on my 1600tp to give me a slight boost and more control over my demistability! ;D
