Mines a 2 litre but I think type 1s are the same - anyway question is ...., some years ago I replaced the black concertina affairs from the heater control pods to the y piece and junked the asbestos collars (for obvious reasons). I used something similar to these last week, i cant remember if i got them from vw hertiage or just kampers. Ours is a 1600 and they fitted really well.
