At weekend want to try sort main beam, have removed relay and want to test pretty sure this is similar is it best to put 12v onto it or just take cover off and clean inside contacts, relay has by sound of it something loose inside so probably mullered. I dont have flash facility or high beam on dash either. Dont want to buy some chinese thing for no reason has anyone found supplier that does hella/bosche/lucas etc. Current one is part 411941 583B but pretty sure its just a 12v latching relay
Trying to get wiring sorted @snotty before I get in van, I believe in pic dipswitch is stalk switch and headlight switch (56) goes to dimmer terminal on dash switch. The reason is I havent original light switch and lights only work with ignition on it has all worked for years like this but now lost high beam/flash feature. I have found durite relay which is 25a latching type. Only noticed this when I tried to investigate wipers not working yesterday and not sure if its linked or coincidence.
If it worked previously, I'd take the cover off the existing relay just to see if there's anything that could be mechanically fixed. Also, have poke in the relay socket terminals to see if they're what they should be, lights on/off etc. Also that the "S" terminal has continuity to ground when the dipper is pulled. The Durite one does look like it might be compatible; Durite stuff I've had in the past has been pretty good quality. Might be elsewhere in the wiring of course, but a new relay might be a good start if the socket checks out ok.
Had a look took relay to bit and gave good clean the neg switched cable was one fault at connections behind dash. Sorted that now relay clicks as it should but wont switch over so will order one of above Whilst behind speedo cluster found why htr pods not working too. Always something. My High Beam has suddenly stopped functioning. I’ve been tidying up all the wiring, fairly successfully, checked fuses so assuming it’s the relay. It’s pretty new though (a few months old) and made by Meyle of Germany. Can’t see a way to open it up...thing is the terminals are all covered in grease. Are they supposed to be? The old one I took out was the same. Don’t really want to spend £20 for a new one just to find out I’m being a muppet cleaning grease off this one Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
