a friend of mine served with him in Afghanistan and said he was a good bloke and not a shirker.

  7. I can believe it. Seems like a good guy, although we'd be daft think his life is anything like ours. Hats off to him, tho'

I think Meghan's just found out that being a Royal is much more boring than being a uber-woke Celebrity...

I know someone ( my two cousins )who were out there in his lot and said he was a top bloke and didn’t have a problem mixing in with them.

I’d say more demanding than she would ever have thought.

  10. Demanding in a very boring sense. It's not Being a Celeb.

If you think of the self constraint and the protocol restrictions etc, then add in all the public stuff they are committed to I would say it’s pretty demanding on their personal life. Personally I’d turn the job down if it was offered to me.

Btw I’m not supporting any of the Royals I think it’s an outdated institution and the french had the right idea, but my idea of hell would be to be have been born into a family that lives under that much scrutiny

I wish more celebrities had some of that at their core.

Most are thick as pig s**t and grade A hypocrites, yet they assume we want their ‘guidance’.

  14. Never said he was a bad guy.
The security bill is more than £100m for the royal family.
Did your friend ever see him engage an enemy in close combat?

  16. I vaguely remember him coming home early from his first tour once the bad guys had discovered him out there. The second was as part of an Apache crew I imagine that the military had done pretty thorough risk assessment before he went, probably as safe a job out there as you could get. He might have been a good guy and got on well with everyone but I wonder if they were so pleased to have an enhanced target tag along with them. I'd be interested to get the military take on his desire to drop his royal duties, makes his position heading up the Royal Marines a difficult one, generally us vets have a strong sense of duty. Haven't read the papers today just back from work so haven't seen any of todays developments. The windscreens wipers in the bus were squeaking on the drive home must get it sorted, anyone know if you can lube the wiper mech?
