Handbrake rubber boot (modern repro"s)

  1. Anyone got one? Being modern rubber do they spontaneously disintegrate just after fitting?

I'm trying to bulk up my order for free delivery but don't want any flotsam from the ocean of liquid poo that is Classic VW Parts Stores.

  2. If you've got a late Late (is yours a 79?), you haven't got a handbrake boot on the floor. The floormat itself seals the gap.

  3. Yeah mine is 79, got a proper rubber mat but got big gapage round the handbrake hole, no sealage there sir, no siree

  4. Odd. Mine ('78) is a snug as a bug. You couldn't actually fit a boot without cutting the mat. You've just got a weird van ;)

  5. Is this your floormat? If yes, it's not original VW.

I fitted one to my December 72 bay... been on several years with no problems. Felt quite substantial as I cheated and split it up the seam to fit it without messing with handbrake lever.
Got it from JK I think.

    Butyl pond liner works.
    There I have done it.

Today I invented a new camper van heater - it burns newspapers in a box under the bus and heats it up. I will start a $200k Kickstarter to fund it .. to buy the Splittie I need to test it...
