Handbrake/Parking Brake Warning Light 'Striker'?!

  1. Good evening,

Relatively new to all this, but I'm in the process of sorting out all the electrics. Basically I have fixed the parking brake warning light (lights up on dash) but have no striker for the switch to close.

The switch remains open, light will stay on. I have nothing on the handbrake to hit/push/strike the switch to turn it off when handbrake/parking brake is off. Capish?!

Any photo's will be greatly appreciated - nowt on Google.

  2. Have you got a wide "bumper" thing, like part 27 in the pic? Believe this is what operated the switch. VW Heritage used to sell them.

  3. Cheers, I saw this earlier. I have that. It seems that it would attach to the actual lever/linkage (part '2')..?

  5. If you don't have the original bracket, you can install a standard push switch in the air splitter and make a bracket up to fix to the handbrake itself, that actuates the switch...I did this job a while ago and used a flashing red LED as a warning...you can't miss it!

  6. I could point out that 6" of greasy lever sticking out of the dash performs the same function.... :)
