Hi all, Just found this site and thought I'd introduce myself and my bus. I've been into VW's since my first car back in the late '70s. I bought this bus (a '73 transporter) about a year ago at the VWs on the Green show. It's in fairly good shape for its age. The T4 is showing its age though. I've already got the new top end parts for it as well as a new exhaust and hope to pull the motor and tranny soon to fix some leaks in the tranny, rebuild the motor, and put the stock duals back on. Its a fine addition to my collection of VWs and one I really enjoy driving. Anyway, here are the obligatory pics...
Excuse Rick, he's not allowed a passport & isn't allowed south of Birmingham (England). I don't think he knows there's another Birmingham in Alabama.
wrong there's a song about it - ramjam, black betty - she's from a-l-a-bam, way down in bir-ming-ham........
plus it's known fact the world ends south of birmingham and it's pointless going out of the middle of the uk.
Good morning from Cheshire, Closest I'm going to get to you is Arizona , south rim of the G canyon in September, can't wait
Hello, good morning and welcome from Blighty!. My bus looks the same colour (reef blue tin top station wagon) from California Long beach. Looks like a very nice bus. Have fun with the roof lining and love the mail boxes on the kerb (could'nt have them in England, target for thieves!)
I'm in Brighton (the other one, thank you) just northeast of Denver. Quite close, just down the road in Boulder. Sorry, mine is Orient Blue, but quite close to Reef Blue. Yes, the lining will be fun, finished one on my '73 Super last year... but this one has the sunroof to deal with as well. As for the mailboxes out on the curb, out here in the wild west, you'd be lucky not to get shot if you messed with someone else's mail. Grand Canyon is great, if you have the chance, you should do the whole Southwest tour... Grand Canyon, Painted Desert, Mesa Verde, Meteor Crater... there's even a few extinct volcanos in the area as well as many pueblos to visit. (just listen to me, I sound like the tourist bureau!) Thanks all for the warm welcome.
