Fuel gauge woes

Discussion in 'Mech Tech' started by High Lord of the Fen, Jan 29, 2012.

  1. Can anyone help me?
I have a 72 bay and I have a problem with my fuel gauge. When I fill the bus up the fuel gauge reads fine. However the needle soon registers empty even though there is petrol in the tank. Once I put more fuel in in pops back up.
    Can anyone help?
    Cheers.

It sounds like a dodgy sender to me. There is a thread on testing and diagnosing fuel gauge problems - I'll try and find it for you.

  3. excuse hijack HorTs ....

    Try These

    In essence ....
    1. check behind the dash to see if its the gauge/vibrator!!!
    2. check the actual sender (if you can get to it on top of the fuel tank)

If you need any more info let me know.
I emailed speedy Jim and he emailed back very quickly and was alot of help.

Ps I only know because I,m still trying to sort mine out.

    Regards
    Hib
