    Hi.
I think I need to change the fuel sender wire (from sender to...? Gauge perhaps.

Can someone tell me where the fuel sender wire goes?
Where do I route it? Via the fuse box maybe...

    Any help appreciated

It says in the Bentley book that the ground wire goes to terminal 15 on fuse box.
    There are only 12!

  3. That doesn't really make sense ;) What's the matter with your fuel gauge?

It just goes straight to the gauge, via the main loom.

    Probably.

  5. It will be in the main loom front to rear. Strange to get a break in it but possible. Have you checked the resistance of the wire front to back with a multi meter? More likely a sender or gauge/voltage regulator issue.

Disconnect sender wire Measure resistance of wire at back of gauge to earth . Should be 20 to 100 ohms if the wiring is good.

Across the gauge should be 120 ohms.

If the wire is open/infinity, the fuel sender wire appears from the loom going up in the offside rear wheel arch . You can stab it with a pin and check resistance to earth .. if it is open circuit there too, its the sender. If it reads 100 ohms ish then its the wiring in the loom.
