Hooray... Done it. Finally fitted new fuel filter and new pipe from tank to filter. Not a nice job to do.

cars with plastic fuel tanks get away with metal filters, steel tanks rust inside and clear plastic filters would show the crud and rust particles. that's me and I'm sticking to the clear plastic ones.
Personally having had crispy fuel pipe mere inches from a metal fuel filter, with flames licking the fuel pipe, I am keeping the metal filter.... and its why I now have motor racing fuel hose, and still have a bus..
