    Hi...

What's the fuel pipe called...the one you see when you take off the 'paint tin lid' the old braded one...

Need to change mine and I can't find it.

Planning on trying to change it via the paint lid access....how is it as a job?

  2. I think suppliers call it fuel filler hose
Your in for a whole world of pain trying to do it through the paint tin lid

But can it be done OK?

Yes but tricky, engine out and firewall off makes it easiest but that’s fine if you’ve got other reasons for doing so !

  5. I think it would be seriously difficult without the fire wall out, but will come out without engine removal if 1.7-2 litres t4. No way on a t1 I think.

I did this twice last year, first with engine in then with engine out. Engine out is much easier.

  6. Drop the engine it’s a lot easier
Then you can also do the the tank breathers

drop the engine and remove the firewall so you can do the breathers on the tank and the 2 fuel filler pipes all together.
if you try through the paint tin hole you will need double jointed arms.

  9. If you try to do the fuel filler through the paint tin lid expect the following

    1. Having to modify your forearm so it will bend in ways that it currently doesn't
2 Warn anyone who lives close by about the amount of swearing they are likely to hear.
3 Giving up and dropping the engine, followed by, I wish I had done that before.
