The front wheel arches have cavity wax holes that are oval in shape. Where can I get some of these from?

Cheers mate. I bought the last 6! Think it's just 2 each side but one can never have too many spares.

I think it's only one per side, on mine anyway, and I need two of them! I don't suppose you'd sell me two would you @JamesLey ? Can't seem to find them elsewhere. Or does anyone know another source?

That's very kind old chap. Seems they're a bit rare. I still keep finding bits I need - thought I'd bought everything! Reading other people's threads is how I've learnt most about what I need - well apart from Barry Haynes' posts :D

Tell me about it, thought this would be a cheap month for a change. New clutch and seals, alternator, hubcaps (OK I didn't need these), bungs and lots of other little bits. I guess they're never finished!

I'm a bit of a way behind you in terms of progress but thought I'd bought everything . I dare say there'll be a few more surprises yet.

  9. Go on Internet I bought a box of mixed chassis plugs

  10. The same ones are used on the deformation panel and the b posts
    If you didnt already know.
I could do with finding some as I’m missing them for the steps and deformation panel.
The only thing is nearly all the little rubber bits I’ve bought so far have cracked and split within a month or two of fitting them

Have you drilled the top of the arch for cavity wax yet jim?

Yeah I managed to save the ones out of the B pillars which were still in good nick for 47 years old!

  13. There are lots of little rubber bits missing from underneath most busses
That most people don’t realise should be there
As I’m a bit ocd I went and replaced them
I wish I hadent bothered as they just don’t last more than a few months
So it’s a complete waste of time and money.

I’m going to forget about them for now and carry on with other jobs
Once it’s on the road I’ll spend some time searching for parts that will do the same job but from maybe the marine industry but definitely not from vw parts suppliers.

Just for you Para. Plastic covers I fitted yesterday to the front bumper. Ones already split. I even fitted the correct bolts with the chamfered edge. Can’t say I didn’t try. :(
