Front vent

  1. Hi Guys, I am new to the forum and restoring T2's, where does the front vent go? Is it just cold air to cool the van? are there any implications of the vent being covered and effectively being painted over? I ask because i have just purchased one with no vent, so am assuming it has been covered over at some time. What for I don't know!

    Cheers

  2. Only for cool air. I've seen one or two where the vent has been blanked off quite why I don't know. BTW welcome to the madhouse :)

  3. Welcome dude

The front vent is just for fresh air into the cab area when selected

No problem with having it smoothed over

Stick some pics of your bus up in show us your ride we love pics here on the late bay

  4. Welcome - I find the vent very useful for getting air in the van after weekends away :)

  5. Welcome - I have the controls - but no actual 'flap' lol. I took the grill off and you can just see the metal rod... So, full fresh air constant. That may have been fine in Arkansas, but it's pretty wet and cold here in Wales 8)

  6. my windscreen clouds over if I do not have it on in the morning ,unless I stop breathing.. ;D

  7. Zed

  8. Thanks guys, I thought it was for just fresh air an I will post some pics as soon as I can I have just literally bought it and jsut trying to focus on how/where to start the resto etc

  9. Hi, I'm new on here to, and trying to fix a few missing parts. The levers that operate those flaps are missing on my van - do you still have those? Do you need them? I'l buy them off you other wise (its the bar that connects the 2 fresh air flaps that is bolted to the bulk head that I'm after...

Steve, is your bus the three lever type or the four lever type?

  11. three control levers on the dash if thats what you mean. I'd add an image of what I need if I knew how!!

  13. Mine is the three lever type.

Its the rods and brackets between this lever and the front flaps that are missing. The bit that bolts to the bulkhead.
