Front turn signals leaks water

Discussion in 'Mech Tech' started by metoooo, Jan 29, 2012.

  1. Hi,
I've recently replaced the front turn signal seals and found that the new ones also leaks water. I'm guessing that the seals are not tight enough but because the assembly is fixed with rivets I can't tighten it. Anyone have a tip regarding those seals? do I need to use some silicon to prevent leaks?
    Thanks

Silicon around them or fit nuts and bolts.

  3. vaseline on the flange (missus ) before fitting them...?

drill the rivets out and replace with clinchnuts...
replace the first seal and smear vaseline round them...
    screw indicator unit up tight..
replace lens seal, smearing the new one with vaseline...

this will sort it (it did on our westy)

Drill holes for the water to drain out.

  8. Who's seals are you using? The wraparounds (if they're one piece) shouldn't leak, rivets or not.
