  1. re sat navs ? AS of June 2018 ? They say if you use one and it has speed camera updates or fixed on you device you can be fined over £1000 and poss car confiscated and crushed? Most sat navs have this and they say even if you have it and have switched off , soooo is this right and if so do they want people to get lost or drive around trying to read maps? Also saying any gps device , what happen mr technology huh ? Anyone bin done ? Eu rule Na just France ?

That rule has been in for years.
Mine used to say “speed camera location” in the UK, “dangerous road section” in France.

  5. Really , I saw it and was pointed to by aa and others new law 2018 ?? it made tom tom reduce prices on most of there gadgets. I can’t see how they can police it but mr unlucky gets caught init .What makes yours Doug ? Not that I’ll be going this year anyway but don’t think I’d want to go without , not fa speed cameras but just navigating and taking short cuts n using services ,motels n stuff. They are saying even if it’s switched off on your device but it has it wtf ??

Mine was a Garmin mate. They had that functionality built in years ago. They can warn of a dangerous road section, just not speed cameras....

I’m pretty sure my mates was a Tom Tom and did the same. The French have more rules than anywhere else on earth. They never enforce them though so I wouldn’t worry!

  10. So what happens when you break down there and the 'nice man' on the rescue phone asks 'can you give me a sat nav location? 'sorry I throw it over the fence when the police went past'

  12. switch it off on the device is safest option, but tbh don't worry about it. police over there have much more important things to worry about, burning tyres, yellow vests, lunch, cheese etc.

  13. That’s in a vw camper thou:D , its if you break down in any other vehicle . Trubble with flouting rules it’s always those that don’t normally who get caught init Or the brits :D

  14. And their government will back down and withdraw it. !

Le French still have le gonads and will go out and protest.

    We don't and we won't.
