VET has got a bit sweary of late... surely "tell Charlie to go "fumble" himself" is a real step to far!? Sport into disrepute and all that?

 

Not making excuses for either of them, but VES is young and inexperienced. VET should know better. VET deserved penalising for his vocal outburst at the most.

Hand signals are a little less serious.

 

I don't know if he's handling the pressure cooker that is Ferrari at all well, the drivers who do handle it ( & the Italian press ) tend to be astute, political animals like Lauda or Schumacher or in the old days balls to the wall drivers like Villeneuve ( Jacques not his son ) , Pironi or Reutemann.

 

I like the way Red Bull did their own podium presentation after RIC got hold of the 3rd place trophy.

 

For me it shows all that's going wrong with f1 all these rules in how you should drive soon they will have to drive at least a foot from each car.
Put barriers in so they can't gain by taking to the grass gravel traps will do then let them race

 

Now, I haven't particularly liked Vettel in the past, but I am starting to like this new more vocal version (same with Alonso), it makes a nice change from the bland PR directed bunch of robots we currently have. A bit like Hamilton the other week, throwing he's toys out of the pram because the engine blew, that was great, we actually saw what the driver was thinking, fast forward 24 hrs and we get a bland apology and a meek "of course I don't think the team favour blondie" argggh you do believe it, just say it for Christs sake.

As for drivers swearing, so what they swear, I swear, you swear, we all swear, it ain't that big a deal. Oh, only it is now, in this sanctimonious bland PR driven world we all have to live in.

Oh and before anyone replies with "well I don't swear" let me just say I don't believe you and if anyone screams "think of the children" well let me tell you, they swear more than us.

Are the Mercedes drivers allowed special dispensation to cut across the grass and miss a couple of corners out just because they were ahead through failing to brake enough for the corner? Really they may as well have not braked at all and just gone straight on! What a farce.

 

Merc deemed not to have gained an advantage, where VES clearly gained. He should have slowed down a bit but didn't and just went for it.

 

Yes I understand that, but how they haven't gained advantage based apparently on position is silly. If they'd tried to make the corners, due to going far too fast, they'd have lost positions at the very least?

 

Personalities aside , this shows what a farce the championship has become .

How many other `sports` have 2 x 3rd places awarded then `video reviewed` and eventually awarded to the bloke in
fifth ??
I`m sure decisions like this are made to give headlines and credence to what has unfortunately become so predictable - a spectacular start followed by a tedious procession and any `racing` usually dictated by tyre degredation , a pit stop cock up or the weather ...
Okay , that`s a very simplistic overview but RACING it is not . There has to be rules but ACTUAL RACING involves the driver crossing the line in 3rd place being given a place on the podium . So Verstappen backed Vettel into Riccardo . And his problem is ?? If Vettel had been able to pass Verstappen in the first place there wouldn`t be any complaints , whether within the so called `rules` , or simply racing he couldn`t make the pass .

Vettel has become just another wingeing (token) Italian , how the mighty fall ....

 

This will be good for F1.

The 'rainy season' picks up again in November and lasts through Maywhen it dramatically lessens. Rainiest months are December – February with highs in the mid to high 80s.
