  1. Unfortunately Force India are in deep trouble themselves so are only concerned with their own survival. They see this as a way to get some much needed cash:(

I'd be surprised if Force India make through the season, if they even start it.

Not far, although Manor/Marussia can miss a couple of races if they can get a chassis together for 2015 & Honda have been rumoured to be looking for a "B" team to run.

  5. Possibly add Sauber and lotus to that list as well sadly. Both are in difficulty, hence the Sauber posting a fastest lap in testing the other day, no doubt in a desperate attempt to impress a potential new sponsor.

  6. What happened to costs being cut ..
to make it easier for teams to enter f1..?

I think they have improved with the merc engine.

  8. Nope Ferrari engine this year. The engine undoubtedly has improved but not by that much:(

  9. Caterham, Virgin(marussia) and HRT came in in 2010 with the promise that budgets would be capped for all teams. That got swept under the carpet by the big teams and they have all struggled ever since.

I meant lotus, doubt sauber will do much this year, another team in financial mess.

  11. Aahhh I see! Yes the Merc engine should be a big improvement for Lotus, just depends whether they have the resources to make the most of it.

  12. Daniel Ricciardo beat Lewis Hamilton's time on Top Gear last night - in the reasonably priced car . Hamilton's time of 1m42.9s set a year ago was 0.2s faster than Webber's who in turn was a full second faster than Vettel's . Ricciardo set a time of 1m42.2s in perfect cold dry conditions - and did the same time on 3 separate laps.

  16. Last year's were the ugliest F1 cars since the old turbo days. This season should see (IMHO) Mercedes business as usual at the front with Williams getting closer plus Red Bull (Ricciardo anyway). McLaren will be faster but inconsistent as they can't develop the engine. Can't see Ferrari sorting themselves out until they've got a settled management.
Force India will run out of money.
A couple of weather affected races will result in virtually no finishers.
Sauber and Lotus will have a very uncomfortable season of there being no-one behind them...

I think they're playing safe... too many high profile concussions in other sports and Schumi and Bianchi still out for the count, this makes better publicity.

Still reckon this will give Button a 25pt advantage over Alonso in the title race :p
