    I have 29 vents and 165 mains. 5.7x lol

  2. I have bigger mains on my 1700 with 28 vents , from memory I have 125 .

  3. All new to DRLA Carbs so excuse my ignorance. I've just bought Dell 40's that were purchased by someone else from Eurocarb. I bought CSP Bell Crank Linkages, Filters & Manifolds from Machine 7 which arrived today.

I'm getting them fitted to a new vege type 4 engine. If anyone has any advice re set up I'd appreciate it.

I thought it would be a straight forward procedure, didn't realise I'd need to get the manifold drilled and tapped.

Did the someone else buy them for a 2l air-cooled engine?

  5. Whats your engine speci. What chokes are already fitted and what is your preferred outcome ie driving style. From experience I would go for 28 or 30 venturis.

  6. Think I put 30'an my 2l

  7. me too but carbs are commonly supplied with 28s.

  8. 30's give a but more grunt at the top end...I found 28's a little restricted

  9. Migt be good for running in though!

  10. They were bought for a 2l but were possibly used on an 1800. Waiting to hear back about the exact info.

Will need to read up on Venturi etc as it's all a bit foreign to me.

I'm not looking for anything fancy just good reliable carbs to go on the new type 4 2l aircooled and run well.

Carb tuning resulted in my last engine failure so I just want them set up properly first time. Cheers

  11. Got the break servo vacuum port added to my manifolds. Picked them up today. Proper job!
