  1. just in case the photos don't upload what did you have for tea ;)

  2. Yes a carb from riverhaus. The chap was on holiday anyway, but he said he's selling them quicker than he can build them so there's always a backlog

  3. Worth the wait I'd say, very happy with my Riverhaus carb.

  6. It's not come off yet and done a couple of motorway runs. The company I used do off shore and heavy industry stuff. They can powdercoat a lorry chassis. My tin on both engines has been for beer money.
The temps on the exhaust part of the exchangers may eventually bring it off but the casings and control pods will stay black

  7. I have mine powder-coated, for hygiene reasons.

  8. Refitted my old clutch today, hopefully that's a job not even I can arse up.....

And more fiddling on my tinware. Weld, grind , fill hole I just made with grinder with more weld, grind weld, weld grind, weld a bit more. 1 step forward 2 steps back.
On the plus side my weldings getting better with all the practise

  9. :TTIWWP:

  10. Did you centre the clutch :)

  11. ^this ;)

  12. Yeah I even wasted the £4 on the empi butt plug tool:oops:

Cleaned up the faces with clutch/brake cleaner ( who'd of thought ! ), Centred clutch, torqued bolts up to 18 lb ft I think it was

  13. Don't try and centre your clutch plate with a butt plug. It rarely works.

  14. On the flip side, my empi clutch tool has recentered my anus! Anal torsions now thing of the past

  15. Excellent! Put a bit of Copaslip on it to prevent it seizing up in the future.

  16. Is it really necessary to use a sealant where there's a paper gsasket ie, fue!l pump pedestal?
If so what's the best sealant, permatex ?

And also threadflock, for likes of crank pulley nut? Blue loctite?

  17. No, just fit them dry or rub a smear of grease on them. Crank pulley nut doesn't need threadlock, just do it up tight enough.

  18. Am I likely to need sealant (or threadlock) for any of the assembly I'm doing?

  19. Can't think of anything if you're just building up the engine. If you pop your rocker covers off (which you'll need to do sometime), get rid of any sealant and just fit cork gaskets with a smear of grease on.

  20. Ooh look a fluffy little update.

I have fitted the dizzy, oil pressure sender, breastplate tin, pulley wheel and mocked up oil cooler for which I need a couple of bits.

Due to my tinware palava I'm not getting powder coated now as I've lost the will to live over it. Loads of it is crispy and could do with replacing but I got to draw the line somewhere, and frankly I don't give a crap what it looks like, so it's having a minimal spruce up with some spray paint.

And I've pur chased a stock exhaust and accuspark dizzy instead of them expensive jobbies as I blew my engine money on something else, so it's cheapy chirpy cheap cheap now :easter:
