I'll update this on the e-mail as well as I am not certain if everyone on here has re-registered on TLB yet (or if they even have the same usernames!)

  2. Details still the same for me.

Now realising I need to replace the iffy roof boards before installation...

  3. PM sent to you Jen.

  4. Hi all,

Anyone got a cached copy of the cost summary so I can work out how much I need to send to Jen?

I'm going for horizontal extinguisher, AFFF, switch for allways-on LED, no chafe guard.

    Any ideas?

    Cheers

  5. I found it on one of the pages
All, and Jen will confirm this, the cost is as follows as we have the numbers for the group buy 20+)

    Basic system cost is £94.80
    VAT £18.96
Postage £15.00 (this is single point postage, unless sharing postage I think, then its divisible by the amount sharing the same postage destination)

    Total £128.76
Jen will need a cheque for that amount made payable to firetec, unless you are sharing postage, "example, SAndyBay and myself are sharing postage, so the above reduces by £7.50)

On top of this, if you go for any of the add ons, then add the add on price to this figure, i.e Sandybay wants the switch to show it not working, the cost is £20 + VAT so £24.00

The above was correct but missed the additional VAT on the postage, so the below is where I corrected it.

Cost analysis / pricing chart - I am trying to help people determine what they need to pay, so, to aid this I am posting what I hope is a simple to read costing chart, simply decide what you want and there is the price

    Base unit + single postage + VAT = £131.76
Base unit + shared postage + VAT = £122.76 (shared by 2 people)
    + Chafeguard + VAT add £24.00
+ Dry Powder instead of foam +VAT add £12.00
+ Built in Switch + VAT add £24.00
+ Built in switch with 4 wire connection + VAT add £25.00

  6. Thanks for that.

Cheque sent for horizontal standard system with switch.

    Cheers

  9. Being a late comer to TLB, I was just wondering if anyone could provide a summary of the history to this thread and which product this is? (Just had a quick look on the FireTec site.)

Have people used this before? I take it from the above responses that they are good? What are the options and what do they do?

I may be interested depending on what its like.

  13. Hi Jen,
Did you get my cheque? I sent it a couple of weeks ago?

  16. Anymore for anymore?

I'm hoping to send the order off sometime next week.

After it's sent we have another 10 days to include extra orders at the discounted rate. After that time the price reverts to list (we have a 40% discount at the moment) until another group is gathered.

  17. I'm seriously considering getting myself one of these... though until I actually work out some interior for my bus there probably isn't much to burn down ;)

However, I am looking for some advice from anyone familiar with the product.

Any advice on installation types? They are listed as "Upright on LH chassis leg, horizontally on LH chassis leg or horizontally under engine compartment ‘roof’ ". Having only just got my first bus, I'm still becoming familiar with the engine bay, so am not sure if there is anything I should be taking into consideration?

Any views on LED's? Is anyone getting a switch? Am I correct in thinking the switches can either support a lit LED (green) when armed, or a lit LED (red) when used?

I'm currently thinking about AFFF, and maybe a switch for either the Green or Red LED. Not sure on installation type.

I'd be interested to hear anyone's thoughts or recommendations, any help would be great! Thanks.

  18. well I'm going for a standard horizontal, (fixed onto spare wheel metal), with no chafeguard or leds.

I don't see the point with the led's as I'm sure the sight and smell of flames shooting out the back will be enough to alert me that the firetec has gone off but then it's personal choice really.

As for fitting, it's where you have space really, apparently it doesn't affect the workings in any way shape or form.
