    Zed Gradually getting grumpier

People including myself don't like over-braided fuel hose as you can't see it perishing. I just replaced 3 pieces after the pump on a twin carb camper. All 3 were leaking. The one near the pump was dripping when the engine was running. It was an accident waiting to happen. A minute after the engine was switched off, the petrol evapouated and the pipe looked dry and fine.

My local hydraulic hose supplier place sells marine grade (self extinguishing) petrol hose. They always say - are you sure? - it's expensive! £3/m! Cheap as chips. :)

  12. Why not go the whole hog and bend and shape your own from stainless tube with flared ends and polished flare nuts !!!!

  13. Outlaw zed is talking about the rubber fuel pipe with the braided material overlay NOT the Stainless steel braided stuff that uses aeroquip fittings ... the rubber stuff perishes due to the unleaded petrol and because of the material over braid you can not see it is fubar

I agree with Zed. The braided stuff sold by motor factors does not give you the visual glance of the condition afforded by the non braided all rubber hose.

I'm quite sure you hot rod guys change your fuel hose often because because because but to those in the ordinary world we wouldn't think twice about fuel hose, braided or not.

  16. some much infomation i don t know wheather to drive my bus or not now im already paranoid about things due to the engine fire ive own my bus since september and probally only driven it 6 times and one of those times was to collect it from the restore s being a bus owner at the mo ain t as much for as i thought it was going to be , i spent nearly 10 years saving and looking for the right bus . now it just seems that no matter how much you spend or what ever you fit to them there just unreliable fire hazzards
