Hi all, I'm in need of help from those in the know....I have attached a schematic picture showing the parts that are missing on my bus( 77 westy ) i've circled them in red. its the little thin silver flap thing, what is its purpose , what does it do ..its importance ....if its not there !!!!??????????????. Sorry it is a type 4 engine ...2ltr. Any help would be greatly appreciated. cheers Lee 07903997083
Not very critical, it's to stop your electric fan blowing back upstream through the heat exchanger. You'll need it (both of them) for demisting the windscreen at slow speeds.
if that's all i had missing as said above they are hardly important, i can't find any so i'm not gonna bother.
Hey Rickyrooo, yes , thats just one of my probs... i.found one on the floor after the fan housing and all had been put back together........hey ho ..take a look at my other tech questions, ( may be - just-may be ..you can help.) ....these are all as a result of the t**** that raped the bus before I bought it from them...still finding things that are missing.....thats another story...tell you another time. hows the brown bus? cheers Lee
Hey Rickyrooo, just had another thought, if you found a load of these silver flaps ....you could make a fab outfit!!!!!!!!!!!! >
in bits......i think i've had the same probs as you see this thread http://thelatebay.com/index.php?topic=6160.0 plus my van thread http://thelatebay.com/index.php?topic=237.0 after trying to sort my heating we found a few faults.....
these little flaps would be easy to make. they are only thin aluminium. you could make them out of anything that is light and will blow them open. i hope they are not too important, i have them but have noticed that once engine has started they catch the heat exchanger and stay open. have so many other things to do i cant be bothered to take of heat exchangers and play with them
