If all else fails, and its as solid as you say, then you could always put a pop top on it ;)
I'm sure @davidoft has one secreted away...

  3. There was a guy in California are used to sell extra parts for them . But he’s not there anymore. Main thing that breaks of the little spiral screws there about 3 feet long. If it doesn’t work you won’t get it to work. Make sure re its greased up ! You should ask @Lord Congi ...he knows the pain... sorry to be a downer . They are super cool just rare and not easily parts sourced and serviceable anymore. This guys your only hope.https://creative-engineering.com/

    ..nice..

..but one day you may end up with this
    [IMG]
..this happend with second og pair of cables..the problem is the design of the whole thing..the sunroof panel with all the bits on it weights quite lot so the cables will strech sooner or later..also the problem is this centre platic cover..
..it is NLA and made of some sort of abs plasic and gets worn with the time..also it rusts from inside out..there’s 3 or4 layers of metal sticked together and its massive pain to repair..
Don’t want to put you off tho..like the other guys on here say its great when it works

  5. Thanks guys, I'm probably going to give it a miss to be honest. It sounds like a potential nightmare.

Nah, just an old bay, they all have there issues, fixing a sunroof is way easier than welding ;) , just ask the dude to open it up, it’s no big deal to put the tape back on, looks like the tapes aftermarket to me anywho
