Facebook selling ??

  1. Ok , i`m on farcebook now but how do you go about selling thing on there ??

I`m really not interested in finding hundreds of old / new friends but would probably be keen to sell some of my garage `stuff` after losing the lock up . I`ll probably advertise on here but would like the option as lots of people seem to be going down that route ...

Prefer not to but do i need to join groups etc etc ??

    Call me old fashioned

    :hattip:

  2. Betty has used local group and market place which has a wider audience , done by pm , post pics n price then wait for a bite .

I think you have to join local selling pages of which there are many and then click on the house symbol and then click sell.

I’ve sold a fair few bits this way generally old furniture or crap out of the house and it it always sells really quick .... however be prepared for some right thickos to ask stupid questions and offer stupid offers - it is unreal, make sure if you do sell something - mark it as sold ASAP to stop further messages

If you are selling VW stuff on there you may get a better response if you join one or more of the aircooled groups.

  7. As above. You need to find a group that deals with the topic. I have joined a "dinghy parts for sale" group to find bits and pieces for our sailing dinghy. Its great.

  8. Would the same apply if you were selling ladies’ nightwear? Asking for a friend.

When you look at your news feed landing page on facebook, in the list of stuff down the left hand side you should see 'Market Place'.
This'll take you into the buying bit, but again on the left hand side there should be a blue tab that says 'Sell Something'.
It should automatically fill in your location, and you do the rest. To be honest, it's no better or worse than Gum Tree, and the main problem is that so many folk use it, your items fall off the first page fairly quickly.
It's free though, so nothing to lose, you just have to keep on top of 're-listing' to make sure your stuff is always current.
As said, if you're selling 'specialist stuff' (ay ay ;) ), you might be better off joining an appropriate group.

  11. Or a 20-minute video of a cat on a skateboard.

Seriously, if you're selling, why not ask @Barry Haynes ? He's sold quite a bit of leather apparel on Facebook.

Surely not all of it? What does he wear in his bivvy?

  13. Depends if he's camped out with Theresa. I think she's helping him pull his roll bar off.

She might be needing a ‘Gone Fishing’ sign soon at least.
