External Gas Locker

Discussion in 'Mech Tech' started by stevem, Feb 26, 2012.

  1. Hi Guys,

Does any one else have an external gas locker on their bus?
I've only ever seen one other.

Does any one know if they were for a particular market, or by a particular company?

  2. I've never seen one in all the time I've been into buses! What's behind the door? (sounds like a game show strap line :D)

  3. I think it was swedish busses that had them and a few worked the railways

  4. Perfect place to put a small generator for running the decks alfresco

I think they are generally on Aussie imports.

I think Baysearcher may have one - at least he's mentioned them before I think.

There is a van near us that has one too.

  8. some in our local used to have one on his bay

can't remember where the bus was from but it was LHD

  9. It's a LHD converted Panel van,
has a genuine westfalia tow bar (but no tow ball) and a westfalia style (but definately not wetfalia) roof.

Behind the door is a double skinned metal box, with something(asbestos?) sandwitched between the skins.

I'll teke some more photo's later

    Cheers

I had one on my aussie bus but was a bit smaller than that.
I thought it looked awful so I got a cut from a wrecker welded in.

    Nope, factory windows.
From what I understand it was standard on Aussie buses.
