Watching Shameless and had a text from a friend about Lillian. So I sent this: Lost my love egg and reading STD today To the wrong friend. Oops.
This could come under the title of self incrimination. Yes i have but not saying to who or content, All i will say is that i am still paying for it.
Mine wasn't a text but an instant message to the wrong person...ooops I work as a PA for a top exec within a very large organisation and we have internal instant messaging. I have worked for this exec for three years and to date have not had a single, birthday/Christmas card/present, happy birthday or anything....he is renowned for being a little mean with money. All of the other PAs get cards and gifts from their managers. One Christmas when I was in the office and one of the other PA's got some really nice gifts from the exec that she looks after, he came in bearing the gifts and thanked her so much for all her hard work etc etc, after he had gone I sent her an instant message saying "how nice was that, it is more than I ever got or will ever get off ........... (my exec's name) He is soo tight that he squeaks" I received a reply and to my horror it was from my boss saying "I beg your pardon,what is all that about???" I had messaged him in error!!! Boy did I want the ground to open up and swallow me, I thought that maybe I would get my P45 off him that Christmas!!! I was honest with him and told him what it was about...fortunately for me he saw the funny side but I still never got a card or present off him!!!
oh, and how hot/clammy do you feel when you see it's sent and there's nothing you can do?..............
I've had so many dodgy texts over the years plainly not for me ( I coached womens rugby for 14 years) I've lost count...only one was about me, calling me a ships anchor with a silent W...I could see the persons reasoning though at the time so let that one go. I have though, through my job, seen text mimicking services evil work...there are systems that will let you send a text from s number that isn't yours...so the receiver, if they have that numbering their contacts, thinks it's from that person and can even reply to it, going through to the number owner. Fail to understand how this is legal, and in the wrong hands it's devastating..so when I get a dodgy text now I always ask if it was from them first, or chuckle if it's none of my business!!
On a different note, seen some priceless email trails where people haven't erased the original messages...many a supplier has had a kicking over these bad boys!!
i have done it before ... i sent a text to my friend saying his ex was a real cow (moo) - but it went to her instead.
I recently sent a derogatory instant message to a colleague who was remotely sharing his screen with our manager. You never know who is watching!
