Hmm Im wondering if Gusbus' will be ready (his interior will be made early February) :)

  2. I like a target, I think this one will be mine. Gearbox and interior to replace, seatbelts and heating to sort out and goodness knows how many seals, paint and odd bits of jobs to be done by then. Better get cracking i think!

  3. Has anyone bought their tickets yet? If so what did it cost?

I can only find a link to the campsite - seems like you just have to book the 2 nights camping. Cheap for me because I'm a member and I get age concession reduced rates

Will be a good test for the new engine ! Still trying to get through to book, but 2adults on a pitch with electricity is normally £ 20ish.

Update. Site has just phoned me to take booking. He said limited space and if not booked today / tomorrow, unlikely to get on.

  8. Just confirmed our booking too. Sounds like a good event and it is going to be busy! The local pubs are getting involved too with live music etc.

This will be our first event in Oscar - hope I finish him in time else I will be handing out tools and beer while we're there!

  9. Those of you with good brakes will enjoy driving over Wrynose and Hardknott.

  10. The braking isn't my concern... it's the engine pushing me over that is!

  11. Ah well ! then what you do is , go there over Wrynose and come back via Broughton in Furness. Pointless going over the top if the weather is bad, which I sincerely hope isn't going to be the case for that weekend.

  12. Thats clever then. I know lets have a vw show at our camp site, though space will run out within a couple of days.

  13. He only has 100 pitches on his site. 40 pitches had been booked when I spoke to him this afternoon. Glastonbury sold 125,000 tickets in 87 minutes so it could be worse lol. :)

  14. Any idea if anything (other than some vw owners camping) is going on? Entertainment on the night etc? Facebook page is a little lacking in everything but basic info.

  15. Music at the local pubs who are making a big deal about the event. He said something about a photoshoot of old vw's at a nearby castle and hog roast was mentioned.

  16. i,ve already informed mountain rescue and air ambulance that next year some guys are going to get blown of striding edge while on bikes....
its olny 40 miles from me so i might turn up to meet some of you guys, as of yet not met any other lb members so would be a first for me.

  17. and search and rescue dogs to get everyone back to their vans from the pub!

  18. The route around Hardknott will add at least 40 miles to the trip, so I'm looking at 200 miles+ each way for a weekend camping? I expect high twenties from the bus so I'm looking at the best part of £80 in fuel? I'd have to think about it, although it would probably work out cheaper than attending Camperjam.

  19. Could be less mud too.:p

  20. Booked in and took the last 4 electric hooks that will be on sale for £10 per night
