Erberspacher BA6 heater

I have just removed the heating system complete with wiring looms ducting etc from my 79 Swedish Bay and managed to get everything intact. The problem I now have is removing the control (timer switch) from the dashboard. I have tried to unscrew the knob as you do with the hazzard switch but it does not want to undo that way. I have taken the centre of the switch out but can't see how the knob could come off. It seems that there are not many of these switches on available and I do not want to break it. Any advice on how to remove it would be appreciated

I think you pull them off

 

^this. Have a go at gently pulling it straight off.

dirty boy , get someone else to do it for ye
