Hi I've got an engine for sale which I was going to put in my van but due to a change and going over to the dark side lol
Number is AN005673
It's a twin carb heat exchangers are good as is the exhaust
Needs a clean Looking for £450. Can put on pallet if needed.
Will put photos up later

AN19741800cc - 8.6:1 compression

 

It might say it's an AN code on the case but does it have the right heads? Remember pretty much any head with a counterbore for either 1.8 or 2.0 litre B's & P's will fit a 1.8 ..... only way to check is to pop the rocker covers off and look for the nine-digit (plus a letter) part number. If it hasn't got the right heads and domed pistons it won't be a 1.8 AN spec engine.

I bought a 'GE' code engine blind (cheap enough so it didn't matter) - 'GE' code is a 2.0 Litre US spec engine. Got it home to find it had 1.7 heads fitted to aftermarket 93mm pistons & barrels which made it a 1.8litre, not a 2.o litre. Got all my money back so not a problem. Interestingly the B's & P's were specials that took a 1.7 up to 1.8litre with no head machining

Sorry, don't mean to be a party pooper, I've just been caught out before and am now super cautious buying complete Type 4 engines ....

So just to say this engine is a 85 as far as I know , it run has a good bit of clutch left and the heat exchangers and exchaust are good.
Here are some photos not good but this time of night I can move every thing out of the garage to take mor, having said that if any one is REALLY interested then I'll take the covers of and see if there is any numbers there.

Or I'll put it on feabay.

As three countries dubber has put his word in I Think it's for breaking now which I think will make more than I asked any way.
