Is there a sequence for putting all the tinware back onto my engine, should have taken pictures as I took it all off, any help would be appreciated.

  2. Type 1 or type 4?

[Edit ] Breast piece under crank pulley [edit]

Head tinware, under tins , front/ side tinware , two rear air deflectors, stove pipe for preheat air, then rear apron and heat riser covers when the engine is in place. .

Mostly if you do it in the wrong order, you can undo the screws and slide bits around. But the head tins are really under everything.

  5. From memory: top tin at flywheel end that hooks over crankcase first, then cylinder head tins, then lower tins on either side, then stubby tin pieces that go above 2 & 4 exhaust ports. Then the big rear piece and bits that go around the preheat pipes. Just follow your nose, really, see what fits and overlaps properly.

Worth chasing out the threaded screw holes with a tap.

One of the main reasons they round off because of carp in the thread

  9. They do get crusty, and the screws go in cocked.
