Engine Foam Seal

  1. Hi Guys,

Can someone run out to their van and have a quick look at which side of the engine seal is internal. My new foam seal from JK has a kind of moulded black cover on one side of the H over the foam and just the foam on the other. I cant check after mine was removed after the fire.

    Much appreciated, cheers

yeah foam up soz for confusion, i have an early seal on mine - no foam on that just flat on top and rounded on the bottom...solid rubber - no foam.....i'm waffling.....
but lates should be foam up

  6. the molded bit goes at the bottom to stop it soaking up oil and water from the underside

  7. Yep checked mine and definitely has the foam in the engine bay. :)

  8. Cheers guys, all sorted.

  9. Stu,

You have probably replaced the engine foam loads of times? But if not..... make sure the ends of the foam are well secure at the back of the engine as the fan can suck them in.
It's happened to me before, I could just get my hand in to pull it out before any overheating problems started.

    :D
