engine bay switched live

  1. Are there any others apart from the coil ?

  2. Not that I can think of. The rest is lights.

    Why do you ask?

  3. Lamda sensor ! It's quite busy around my coil

I have a christmas tree with the lambda sensor controller and the engine bay sensors computer via a 3 amp fuse off the coil positive.
Also reversing light and accuspark positive.

    Could do better...

  5. You could see if someone like Vehicle Wiring Products has a terminal block for the push-on connectors.

Never checked but is there one in the diagnostic socket if you've still got it?

  7. That's gone

  8. Fit relay in engine compartment and small fuse box.
Use original ignition feed to energise and split feeds to your coil etc through fuse box .waterproof versions are available !

Deefer66, 89Rallye and CandyCamper like this.
  9. Just fitted 3 relays and fuse box to power all the bits but they need a single Switched ignition , eventually doing away with the coil so trying to keep it tidy . I can feed from to coil but wondered if there was another .

  11. Is this because you are wary about relying on single ignition feed?
If so ,I suppose the only alternative is to run a dedicated loom to front end

  12. You've managed to do all that (very nice btw) but don't want to run a new cable front to back?

  13. I don't really want to run a cable front to back as when I loose the coil and dizzy it will be surplus

  14. What are you going to run instead of coil?

  15. Coil per plug ( 4 coils)

You could switch a supply from the battery with a signal from the coil as it's temporaryish.

  17. I've run a 40amp cable off the starter to all the relays and temporary switch off coil ... wiring is not my fortay.... coil has pertronix , rev counter , temp ... only doing it as I wanted to see AFR readings whilst still on dells .. as it's never been near a RR

  18. You are still going to need a good ignition feed ,and the extras current draw will test the original set up. So to me it would still make sense to up grade ignition feed .

  19. Ignition only has to energise relays so no real draw on it ?
