Leaking nose cone and final drive seals need doing so I'm working my way through dropping the engine and box 1600 tp. Anything else that's worthwhile.

    On the list so far

    Powercoat tinware
    replace fuel lines
    input shaft seal
    starter motor Bush
check fuel tank and breather hoses.

  2. Install Late type clutch release bearing with appropriate guide and release arm
    Flywheel oil seal
Check oil cooler/seals and replace if necessary
    Replace gearbox oil
Check accelerator cable and replace if damaged
Driveshaft boots replace if old and cracked
Degrease and clean/paint block whilst tinware is off

Gearbox output lip seals if its leaking round driveshaft cups.
Gearbox nose bushing and seal if leaking round shift rod.
Donut ball on hockey stick inside gearbox nose.
Weld up holes in tinware before deciding too crusty to powder coat.
    Check clutch.
New studs on bottom of engine block when you bend them...
    Heads off check for cracks.
Reseat valves if they seem not to seal too well.. compression low ?
Look inside cylinder bores for scuff marks.
    Take pictures for reference.

    Replace the gear shift shuttlecocks
And fit a Scooby engine – everyone’s doing it.

  6. Ooooh, you tease ;)...

I'd suggest keeping the original shuttlecocks and cleaning/regreasing the shift rod. Replace the hockey stick ball (with a metal one, if you can find one). Go easy if you're pulling/twisting the end bush out of the nosecone - easy to break the casting. Unless there's something seriously amiss with your diff, resist the temptation to undo the "cookie cutter" bushes to change the large o-rings - they're unlikely to need changing.

  7. And polish your driveshaft flanges with grey Scotchbrite where they go through the seals

  12. check for main bearing movement while you have your nosecone off, if there is any, its toast.

Managed to grab a few hours up the garage. I've lowered the engine and gearbox to get access to the nosecone. Tinware now all removed to be painted, I now have a mass of bits. Hopefully I'll remember where they all go!! Only bit I'm struggling with is the tin round the pulley does the pulley need removing?

Oil cooler looking good. Firewall now also removed too, looks like original filler neck so am in two minds whether to replace or leave. Breather hoses will be changed.

Was going to remove the the engine but the access should be good enough for what I need to do. I hope!!

  19. You need to take the pulley off to remove the breast tin.

Like the Acrow prop, that looks to be a great idea for boxes etc.

    Ozziedog,,,,,,,,nice and adjustable too :)
