davedub - it's private land - I think you'll find that most people in the line-up are having a few beers in the line-up before relocating their vans to the camping...

 

Cheers JenW I got my ticket and line up passé today. Never been to this one but it looks good was going to have a few beers.

davedub - yeh you're fine camping where you are sited for club display the saturday night I just don't want people camping in the show area friday night as its not practical with the manic arrival of everyone saturday morning and I like a show field to be exactly that during the day saturday not half full of awnings and tents

Just to let you know there will be people on site pretty much every day between now and the show working on the ground preparing it to make sure its the best it possibly can be on the day. We currently have no issues with the majority of the camping area and the few bits of the show area that are a bit iffy are having ditches dug from them filled with ballast and then will be turfed over as field drains where possible. Massive thank you to John Pilgrim and all at Crouch Valley Showground for the additional ground works. I'll be going for another pitch inspection on Easter Sunday and will keep you all updated

 

Fingers crossed for you fella. I know it is a couple of weeks away but the ground every where is sodden. If it can just stay dry for a while, you'll be OK

I have invested in a portable gas heater - one of those butane things - i know each canister doesn't last long and I know you aren't supposed to use them in a small space but if its going to be this cold, a chap could lose his bearings in weather like this. Looks like Mrs Mabel is going decline my invite, it has to be sub tropical for her to do a sleepover

 

My van's off the road for April while I get a few jobs done so no camping for us but I may pop down on the Saturday for a while as my sister lives in Rayleigh which is about 10 mins away.

 

The weather has prevented me getting my bus MoT'd for this. So looks like I'll be along just for the day too. Luckily only 20 mins down the road.

 

****e ! Thought maybe I could join the line up as I wanted to support the TLB in a local show but advance tickets now closed.

 

Ground update:

Camping area - ground good no problem
Carpark area - ground good no problem
Show area - ground OK at both ends bit dodgy in the middle... forecast dry and breezy so it will improve throughout the week and 10 of those big rolls of straw being delivered to site tomorrow with another 10 on standby

 

Good news. I'm looking forward to this one.
