  1. Yeah that's why I haven't fitted it properly as of yet. Engine is in the van so might wedge the sender between the fins untill I get some time to make the channel.

I found that one but it isn’t the one I was searching for.

I’m using 1800 heads and the plugs are in deep recesses, I fitted an old plug and drilled down beside the plug to the depth of the sealing washer. The aluminium head being softer than the steel plug body meant that more material was taken off the head leaving a nice groove for the wire.

  5. Yeah it's lying, tested it Friday before setting off to Stanford hall. Showing 130f to 70°, this was using a spare sender I had (so still could be out)

Engine wasn't hot at all on arrival and I checked it after 30 mins of motorway driving. Oil pressure was bob on so I wasn't to worried.

Bit of story on the oil temp though, engine came out last year and broke the original sender with the kit.

On my 3rd sensor which after testing all seem to give various temps so not to worried about what it was reading.

I think it's sorted now due to dodgy connection, it would read as mentioned 130 / 140 driving yesterday but then bounce back to 80 / 90.

I am sure your all making this all up to confuse the ignorant.
What the hell you all on about sounds like some dark magic to me.

One thing that has plagued my CHT sensor is noise from the ignition.
Digital displays sample periodically, analogue meters average.
If a sample lines up with an ignition pulse the reading from that sample time goes haywire and I get high readings or low readings. Then it pops back to normal.
