WANTED Early late bay steering wheel!

Anyone got a good one thats surplus to requirements as the one Ive had sitting in my garage ready to go on is a later small spline one. (doh)

 

I have a brazilian one going spare with a shiney vw badge in the centre? Yours for 50 quid

What diameter is the Brazillian one? And does it fit large or small spline steering column?

 

its a shade under 18 inch diameter and mines a 78 so it would be a larger spline i imagine

Unfortunately it wont fit. Its the earlier, larger spline I need. Later - small spline well- Ive got one of them!

 

I thought the later was larger and earlier was smaller? Either way its the later one lol

Depends what you call good? I have one that's 40 years old and showing the expected wear but all in one piece.

 

That would be just the job by the sounds of it!

 

Do your indicators cancel ok with that braz steering wheel?

 

funnily enough Para, sometime they do and sometimes they don't! what makes you ask that! i hope thats the reason as I have a period one to put on instead!

 

I like those Brazil wheels. If it fitted Id have gone for it! Not keen on aftermarket wheels and original looks best but that looks more tactile than a non Braz one!

 

Hi Dicky, I may be open to an offer on my steering wheel, but I am happy keeping it in the cellar at present.....

 

Top tip - the indicator cancelling bit on the steering wheel needs to be the same side as the indicator switch when steering is in straight ahead position.

Not sure whether mine counts as a late Earlybay or an early Latebay but I'm swapping mine on Sunday.
It's not perfect but you're welcome to it if it is the right size?

 

Thanks for that. What year is the bus? Owt up to 74 will be correct I believe!

 

1972. X-over so earlybay bumpers but latebay motor, side vents, rear lights etc. I can let you know on Sunday what size it is, sadly can't get to the bus before then.
