this morning i went to the timber yard as I needed some batons and a panel to finish off my studio. there was no way i was going to get a 8ft x 4ft panel in the car - so i took pinky along. put down the bed and hey presto! i must say i got some odd looks from the 'builders and tradesmen' when they saw the van .... but i think they warmed to it by the end. >
Took mine to the tip a couple of weeks ago filled with rubbish, old bits of wood, kitchen units, got some very strange looks and one of the guys working there asked whether I was leaving the "old banger". Karma to you ;D
My neighbour used to laugh at my rust bucket and used to make comments about it being on the driveway looking like it did until we chopped down a big tree between our houses and we piled all of it inside the van and took it to the tip. He was well impressed with it then. We've fitted big bits off wood in it, 15+ bags of chippings into it and more it's a great load up work horse.
Mine often does the dump run. Last time I went it was loaded to capacity with all sorts. I often wonder how people live with little hatchbacks and sedans when they do the run??
been to the builders yards many of times in mine to get 8x 4 boards. and stuff for house renovation, i was not too impress when the moron from the yard helped me put some 3 metre work tops in he manage to damage the end of the cabinet lid on my sink unit.... luckily a bit of tlc it was looking back to normal...
we've done tip runs, especially when we were helping my dad sort out the garden, tons of soil removed but the best job by far, taking home the Christmas tree
i get things off freecycle to improve refurbish and sell on as designer stuff so always going round in vinnie to get things...funny thing is they email me later and go hey i got some retro tupperware or camping table or ive had 2 roofracks and an assortment of old 70s things given to me after ive been round in the bus lol!!!!
